_DSC1900 _DSC1901Jourdan Colter presented her research this Wednesday in an industry and academic collaborative seminar co-hosted by ANSYS, Inc. and Dr. Coats. Jourdan’s talk titled, “Medical Simulation & Modeling” gave a great overview of her thesis project with Jade Therapeutics Inc.  The event had both academic and industry representatives speaking about the role of simulation and modeling for the design and approval of medical devices. Jourdan discussed how finite-element modeling has allowed her to understand the contribution of geometry and friction properties in reducing the slip of a hydrogel drug delivery system for use in the eye.  Excellent work Jourdan!
